| Our Church History |
Faith Baptist Church was voted into being on January 29, 1989. From our inception, we
were a full services church; meeting for Sunday School, Sunday morning and evening worship
services and on Wednesday nights for prayer service. We met on Sunday mornings at the
KOA Campground Fellowship Hall on Hwy. 46 for our worship services for eight weeks. On
Sunday and Wednesday nights we met in the members' homes for services.
The McCotter Ford Warehouse was offered to us for a meeting place; on Wednesday, March
25, 1989, we met there for the first time.
On April 2, 1989, we had our formal Organizational Service with fifteen pastors present. This
was a momentous occasion as we committed ourselves to serving the Lord and the building
of the church for His honor and glory. We had already called our pastor; but at this time, we
reaffirmed our call of Dr. Jeff Stiles as our first pastor.
On June 10, 1990, Faith Baptist Church signed a lease with Carpenter's Union to rent their
building for Sunday and Wednesday services.
On Wednesday night, May 17, 1995, Faith Baptist Church had our first service in this building.
Praise the Lord for all the work that has been put into this church building. Mostly, we praise
the Lord for His people - God's church!
In 1999 Pastor Stiles retired and God sent us Pastor Jeremy Coppock.
In the year 2000 Faith Baptist Church more than doubled our missions commitments in our
first "Faith Promise Missions Conference." We had a "burning of the church mortgage!" All of
our debts are paid - we are debt FREE!!
Annual fellowship events include: Church Anniversary in January, Annual Picnic, Ladies
Spring Banquet, Men's Fish Fry.
In 2005 contributions helped us to purchase new nursery beds and construct a new
downstairs room from the toddlers as well as a roadside sign that lights up our service times.
In the year 2005 we sit at the edge of our seats waiting to see what the Lord will do next to
bring souls to Him! Praise the Lord for Faith Baptist Church!
