Church History Celebrating 20 years of Knowing, Growing & Showing
Reaching Families for God
The birth of Faith Baptist Church occurred twenty years ago on January 29,
1989, when charter members voted to form the new church and called Dr. Jeff Stiles as pastor.
At first, the group met Sunday mornings at the KOA Campground Fellowship Hall  in Mims,
Florida.  Evening services were held at members' homes. After eight weeks, the McCotter Ford
Warehouse became available. On April 2, 1989, the formal organizational service was held with
fifteen pastors present.

Then on June 10, 1990, Faith Baptist Church signed a lease with Carpenter's Union to rent their
building for Sunday and Wednesday services.  Although the building was smaller, it afforded
better accommodations, air conditioning, and heating.

On January 11, 1993, Brevard county granted Faith Baptist Church a conditional Use Permit,
and three weeks later, the church purchased the land at 1220 North Carpenter Road.  The
official ground breaking was held on October 17, 1993, following the morning worship service;
and Paster Stiles led a dedication ceremony.  While the church awaited approval of building
permits, they spent their Saturdays cultivating the grounds and planting landscaping.  The first
"Dinner on the Grounds" was held under a shade tree during one of these Saturday work days,
as the workers shared the food they brought for the occasion.

Between February 1994 and May 1995, members and contractors constructed the present
building. Once the metal building was erected, church members and friends completed the
majority of the interior work. The first service in the new building was held on Wednesday night,
May 17, 1995, and the first Sunday service was held on May 21st.

In 1999 Pastor Stiles retired and the Lord brought Pastor Jeremy Coppock to us as our new
pastor.  The church has witnessed the young pastor mature in his ministry and watched as the
family grew.  Pastor and Dana now have three children, Jeremy, Chloe and Matthew.

The church currently employs a staff of six, including Pastor Coppock, Youth and Music Pastor,
Mark Truitt, an administrative assistant, a bookkeeper, a custodian and a grounds keeper.
Additionally, the Lord blesses us from time to time with interns and interim part-time pastors.

Through the years, Faith Baptist Church's Faith Promise mission program has steadily grown
and currently supports 26 missionaries. A missions conference is held annually, when
members are able to enjoy preaching and fellowship with some of our missionaries and with
other missionary guests.

Pastor Coppock, members, and friends have participated in seven mission trips:
2001-Bahamas (VBS for Brother Ricardo Lees), 2003-Burma (preached & taught in the Bible
school in Yangon), 2004-Mexico (visited and preached for Brothers Barron & Gomez),
2005-Philippines (visited & preached for Brothers Rivera, Santos-Diaz, Valencia, Ramos and
Morada), 2006-Cambodia (Village work with Brother Manning), 2007-Haiti (visited and preached
for Brothers St. Gelus & Morange), 2008-Scotland (VBS for Brother Searcy and visited and
preached for Brother Pero in Ireland). Information, updates and current events at each of the
missions are available on the back wall of the church.

The youth of the church enjoy visiting the WILDS youth camp in North Carolina each summer.
Various youth activities and programs provide the entertainment and teaching necessary to
nurture Faith Baptist Church's future. In addition to Sunday School, Primary Church is conducted
each Sunday morning.

In addition to our annual anniversary celebrations, the ladies enjoy a spring banquet, and the
men have a yearly men's grill out.  We enjoy many other church-wide activities such as our
Memorial Day picnic and Labor Day picnic, a Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas caroling at the
local nursing homes. Christmas musical program provided by the adult church choir, and the
annual dram presentation by the Academy of arts Drama Team.  An annual revival is held and
guest evangelists provide inspiring messages to encourage rededication and spiritual growth.
Ministers and laymen of the church present messages at our New Year's Eve Preach-A-Thon.

Faith Baptist Church has enjoyed steady growth over these past twenty years as God has sent
many dedicated believers to join the ranks of the faithful. We have witnessed God's abundant
goodness as He has provided exactly what is needed to carry on His work.

We now have two Sunday School and two worship services every Sunday morning in addition to
the Sunday evening service and Wednesday evening prayer meetings and bible studies. Small
group studies are held at the homes of members and friends of the church.

Faith Baptist reaches out to the community in many ways. Pastor Coppock and Mark Truitt
preach at chapels held at Temple Christian School and Park Avenue Christian School, and on a
regular basis open both the Titusville City Council meetings and the Brevard County
Commission meetings with prayer.

As Faith Baptist Church looks to the future, the goal is to be in God's will and be ready and
willing to do whatever He leads us to do.
